I've referenced the Good Life Project website here before, created by Jonathon Fields, it originally had video interviews with movers and shakers.  Now there is a lot more to the site, including GLP Radio, which offers podcast conversations with successful entrepreneurs, artists, etc.  And it's all free!  You can sign up to get weekly updates of new interviews here.

“Your activity needs to flow from your identity.” It seems that A LOT of people struggle with the question, “What should I do with my life?” So I was really interested to have a conversation with today’s guest, Jeff Goins, because that very question is at the heart of his new book, The Art of Work.

Leap first

Seth Godin has a new audiobook available, and it's fantastic.  It costs $10 to download from Soundtrue, and it's worth every penny, with 100% of the royalties go to the Acumen Fund, a non-profit organization fighting poverty.

The material is familiar, but still completely worthwhile, as he inspires us to overcome our fears and do work that matters.  Or, as written on the Soundtrue site:

• Overcoming our instinctual resistance to risk and change

• Discovering our creative genius in the face of the empty page or whiteboard

• Finding the courage to share that work—with vulnerability, generosity, and results

You can download the audio files here:

self-awareness & discovery exercises

12/29/2014

The following is a list of written exercises that can be done as part of your  self-awareness and discovery:
  • Write your definition of success (personal and professional) and your definition of happiness.
  • Write your mission statement.
  • Write down your ideal day, ideal week, and ideal year - how do you spend your time?

These should be cumulative in that how you spend a day leads to how you spend a week and how you spend a year. How you spend your time is based on how you define happiness and success. These actions are a true, direct reflection of what you've written is your lifelong mission statement.

If anything is out of alignment in writing these, time to rethink and rework until it all makes sense together.
